DuPont Hospitality Receives High Marks

Located in the heart of Wilmington, Del., and long considered to be an ambassador of DuPont, the Hotel du Pont and its historic restaurant, the Green Room, have both been honored by AAA Mid-Atlantic with the Four Diamond Award status for 2010.

This year marks the 33rd year and the 17th consecutive year that the Hotel du Pont has received the prestigious award, making it the Delaware establishment with the longest tenure on the Four Diamond list.  Equally impressive is the Green Room in the Hotel du Pont with 25 years of AAA Four Diamond recognition.

AAA’s Diamond Rating system is the only ratings system that covers all of North America, and one of only two that conducts physical, on-site evaluations. Representing the upper echelon of the hospitality industry, AAA Four Diamond Award winners make up just 3.5% of the 58,000 Diamond Rated lodgings and restaurants.

“In some ways, it’s like a report card for us,” said Dan Bradway, food and beverage director for the DuPont Hospitality group. “It certainly positions us well in the marketplace.”

The 217-room Hotel du Pont is conveniently located less than 25 minutes from the Philadelphia International Airport and only minutes from the Amtrak rail station and Interstate 95.  The Hotel is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Historic Hotels of America.
