About This Event

Join us as we immerse ourselves in the history of Delaware's original people, the Lenape. Gather around the bonfire with us in a picturesque setting, and be transported back in time through stories of folklore and history by our gifted storytellers. Each community, each state, are threads in the fabric that make up the history and legacy of our great nation.\ \ Our storyteller will be Chief Dennis Coker, Principal Chief of the Lenape Indian Tribe of Delaware. Chief Coker will recount stories from the rich history of the Lenape as well as how you can support them today. \ \ The Lenape Indian Tribe of Delaware represents the citizens of a Lenape Tribal Community concentrated in central Kent County, Delaware. Their mission is to protect the cultural identity of the Lenape people of Delaware through educational, social and cultural programs as well as to promote the physical and economic health of their citizens through specialized health and economic development programs. \ \ The program begins at 7 pm outside on the grounds of Greenbank Mills and Philips Farm and lasts approximately one hour.
