About This Event

Join us for our first Folklore Friday of the season as we immerse ourselves in the history of the "Tattooed Suffragist" and other stories of Delaware\'s fight for women\'s rights. Gather around the bonfire with us in a picturesque setting, and be transported back in time through stories of folklore and history by our gifted storytellers. Each community, each state, are threads in the fabric that make up the history and legacy of our great nation.\ \ Our storyteller will be Anne Boylan, Professor Emerita of History and Women and Gender Studies from the University of Delaware. Boylan currently serves as the contract historian for the Congressional Women\'s Suffrage Centennial Commission and state coordinator for the Delaware suffragists included in the online Biographical Dictionary of the Woman Suffrage Movement in the United States. \ \ The program begins at 7 pm outside on the grounds of Greenbank Mills and Philips Farm and lasts approximately one hour. Be sure to BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair) and a blanket as autumnal chill will be in the air. Themed food and drinks will be available to purchase during the event.\ \ Admission is free but we ask that you consider donating by clicking here:\ \ \ \
