Winterthur Museum Garden and Library
Explore and enjoy the country estate of Henry Francis du Pont. The museum offers the world's premier collection of American decorative arts from between 1640 and 1840. Stroll in the 60-acre garden and delight in the children’s Enchanted Woods. Shopping, dining and special events are also features of this historic Brandywine Valley estate.
Hagley Museum and Library
The Hagley Museum & Library collects, preserves, and interprets the unfolding history of American enterprise. Located on 235 acres along the banks of the Brandywine River, Hagley is the site of the gunpowder works founded by E.I. du Pont in 1802. View early American Industry with restored mills, a worker’s community, and the ancestral home and gardens of the du Pont family.
Brandywine River Museum of Art
Discover an outstanding collection of American art housed in a nineteenth-century mill with a dramatic steel and glass addition overlooking the banks of the Brandywine River. Renowned for its holdings of the Wyeth family of artists, the museum features galleries dedicated to the work of N.C., Andrew and Jamie Wyeth.
Delaware Art Museum
The distinguished collections of the Delaware Art Museum are comprised of 12,000 works of art and focus on American Art of the 19th through the 21st centuries and English Pre-Raphaelite art of the mid-19th century. Its outstanding overview of the evolution of American art includes a pivotal collection of works from the "Golden Age" of American illustration and the country's largest collection of the work of John Sloan.
Rockwood Museum, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is an excellent example of Rural Gothic architecture. Built from 1851-1857 for Joseph Shipley, the mansion was situated within 300 acres of woods. Today, 12 rooms are open to the public, along with 72 acres of serene parkland containing six acres of formally landscaped gardens and 2.6 miles of paved hiking trails.

Delaware Museum of Natural History

Nemours Mansion and Gardens
This opulent 102-room Louis XVI-style chateau was built 1909-10 as the home of Alfred I. du Pont. 36 rooms are featured on the tour, featuring fine antique furniture, rugs, tapestries, paintings, and china. Nemours is home to the largest formal garden in North America, with 300 acres filled with fountains and sculpture, and antiquities including gates once owned by Catherine the Great and Henry VIII.
Longwood Gardens, sometimes referred to as the Du Pont Gardens, was created by industrialist Pierre S. du Pont. Attracting nearly one million visitors annually, Longwood Gardens features 1,050 acres (425 hectares) of gardens, woodlands and meadows, 20 outdoor gardens, and 20 indoor gardens with 4 acres (1.6 hectares) of heated greenhouses.
The Playhouse on Rodney Square
The Playhouse on Rodney Square is the oldest continually operating legitimate theatre in the nation. Located at the Hotel du Pont, the brightest stars of stage and screen have lit the Wilmington skyline and graced the lovely Victorian stage since 1913. Known to residents of Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland as "Delaware's Broadway Experience" the theatre presents a professional Broadway series for avid theatre lovers and an acclaimed Children's Series that entertains and inspires more than 30,000 children each year.
World Cafe Live at the Queen
World Cafe Live was built on a simple insight: that a place dedicated to showcasing live music should be a place that attracts and inspires live musicians. The result is a three-tiered music hall in which every detail has been designed to optimize the live performance experience, from sight lines, lighting and acoustics to green rooms, equipment access and concierge service.
Located in the completely refurbished Queen Theater, the venue operates on two levels:
- Upstairs Live: A casual restaurant & bar with an intimate live music stage.
- Downstairs Live: A spectacular live music space with full kitchen & bar.
Both rooms feature clear sight lines, pristine acoustics, comfortable seating and live performances by outstanding artists from across the musical spectrum.
The Grand presents more than 75 shows each season, ranging from symphony orchestras and ballets to the latest rock and comedy stars, with jazz, folk, and family artists as well. The Delaware Symphony, Opera Delaware, and First State Ballet Theatre are all in residence at The Grand, presenting full schedules in each of their disciplines. Between The Grand, its resident performing companies, and rentals, the building hosts more than 300 events a year bringing more than 120,000 people into downtown Wilmington and through its doors.
